Our integrative curriculum nurtures individual talents while maintaining the rigor and academic excellence of conventional teaching methods. Developed by a team of experienced childhood educators, our multiple intelligence curriculum approach focuses first on the outcomes desired, then working backwards, plots the steps that will produce those outcomes. To ensure a seamless and progressive learning experience for Pods learners, our playgroup, pre-nursery, kindergarten and enrichment curriculums are based on the same set of core principles and well-established factors, including the school's mission, teaching approach and local educational standards. The curriculum’s learning objectives are guided by both knowledge of typical child development and by awareness of individual differences in learning style, interest, personality and family background.
A core component of our curriculum is the emphasis on language proficiency. As citizens of a rapidly shrinking world, our students will achieve proficiency in two written languages (Chinese and English) and fluency in three spoken languages (Cantonese, Mandarin and English).
Teachers will be the heart of our school. Our experienced teaching staff comprises high caliber, dedicated and compassionate individuals who work with purpose to fulfill the mission of our school. All our teachers are experienced native speakers who earned high academic achievement and demonstrate a love of working with children.
Our goal to build a top‐tier, leading kindergarten can only be achieved with the help of great faculty and staff. Bringing together decades of experience, our leadership team consists of current and former kindergarten principals, experienced school supervisors, early childhood education lecturers and advisors.
Parent participation in a child’s early education program sets the stage for continued involvement in the school environment and sends a message to the child that education is valued and important. We maintain open and effective communication with parents through the use of technology and more personal channels. Partnership between parents and school is essential to student success and we are committed to keeping our parents informed to ensure that our students’ learning needs are met and reinforced at home.
Our goal as a kindergarten goes beyond the academic. Our school offers enrichment programs to expose each Pods student to a wide range of topics and delve deeply into an interest area, whether in magic, performance, music or a new language.
According to Gardner’s theory, different cultures are biased towards and against certain types of intelligences. Our enrichment programs, designed by experts of each particular field, provide a comprehensive and planned cycle of experiences and opportunities which foster each and every intelligence and talent. Based on daily observations and interactions, our teachers will make recommendations to our students in supporting them to discover their own unique gifts and develop confidence and a strong sense of identity.
Our campus is designed and organized by educators to promote active learning, foster creativity and provide natural opportunities for young learners to engage in purposeful play. Endorsing the educational philosophy where environment is the third teacher, we give great attention to our classrooms, activity areas, common areas and teaching materials so that they best complement the curriculum, rendering each space a unique learning opportunity at both individual and group levels. Each classroom is divided into well-defined areas organized and purposefully arranged for specific kinds of play and activities.
